Swiffle – Filters & Sort — Block Reference

Last updated: August 2026

The Swiffle – Filters & Sort block is a standalone search, sort, and filter panel for a Swiffle Grid block. Use it when you want the filter controls to live somewhere else on the page — above a hero image, in a sidebar, inside a page-builder layout — instead of the built-in filter panel that opens from the grid itself. It is available in both Gutenberg and Elementor.

How it connects to a grid. A Filters & Sort block always targets the nearest Swiffle Grid block that comes after it in the page (in document order — it walks forward through the page structure, including past nested page-builder wrapper containers, until it finds one). Place it directly above, or anywhere earlier on the page than, the grid you want it to control. It does not need to be adjacent — just the closest one that follows.

WooCommerce sources only. Sorting and filtering (search, category, price) are WooCommerce query concepts. The block only has an effect on a Swiffle Grid block whose data source is WooCommerce — placed in front of a WordPress, RSS, CSV/XLSX, or Custom source block, it has no effect at all.
