Swiffle Grid – Prerequisites

WordPress Requirements

  • WordPress 6.3.1+
  • PHP 8.0+
  • MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.3+

Server Requirements

  • HTTPS enabled
  • cURL enabled
  • JSON support enabled (default on all modern hosts)
  • Recommended memory limit: 256M or higher
  • Recommended max execution time: 60s
  • Parallel Requests Swiffle Grid loads data asynchronously and may trigger multiple parallel browser requests. For best performance, use a host with HTTP/2 or HTTP/3 and fast static file delivery. No parallel PHP processing is required.

WooCommerce Requirements (if used, optional)

  • WooCommerce 7.0+
  • Products must be publicly queryable

Gutenberg Requirements

Swiffle Grid uses the native WordPress block editor. You need:

  • Gutenberg enabled
  • A theme compatible with the block editor (Twenty Twenty‑Four, Kadence, etc.)

Elementor Requirements (if used, optional)

Swiffle Grid also ships an Elementor widget as an alternative to Gutenberg. If you use Elementor, you need:

  • Elementor 3.5+

Remote Mode Requirements

Remote Mode works without REST API, without CORS, and without any cross‑domain configuration on the source site. If the source site is publicly accessible and the embedding page doesn’t block iframes itself (e.g. via a strict Content‑Security‑Policy), Remote Mode works automatically.

The source site must meet the following conditions:

  • The site must be publicly accessible (no maintenance mode, no IP restrictions)
  • The product or post pages must be viewable without authentication
  • No security plugin must block iframe embedding (X‑Frame‑Options must allow it)
  • No firewall must block the target domain
  • The source site must not use aggressive bot protection (Cloudflare “Under Attack Mode”, etc.)
  • The target domain must be added to the Allowed URLs list in the Swiffle Grid Setup page. Remote Mode will not load on unauthorized URLs.

The page embedding the grid must also meet this condition:

  • If that page sets a Content‑Security‑Policy, its frame‑src directive must allow the source WordPress domain (or not restrict iframes at all) — no embed technology, Swiffle Grid included, can work around a page’s own CSP.

No REST API.

No CORS.

No special server configuration on the source site.

License Activation

To activate your license:

  • A valid Swiffle Grid license key
  • An internet connection (for activation ping)
  • The domain must not block outgoing requests

Recommended Hosting

Swiffle Grid works on all major hosts, but performs best with:

  • LiteSpeed
  • NGINX
  • PHP 8.1+
  • SSD storage

REST API (WordPress Core)

Swiffle Grid does not use the WordPress REST API.

However, WordPress Core, Gutenberg, and WooCommerce rely on the REST API for normal editor operations. If the REST API is disabled or blocked, you may see warnings in your server logs even on a clean WordPress installation.

Swiffle Grid does not require the REST API, but WordPress itself does.

Client Requirements (Browser Support)

Swiffle Grid uses modern Web Components and requires a modern browser.

Supported browsers:

  • Chrome 80+
  • Edge 79+
  • Firefox 72+
  • Safari 13.1+
  • iOS Safari 13.4+
  • Android Chrome 80+

Not supported:

  • Internet Explorer (any version)
  • Legacy browsers without Web Components support

Swiffle Grid automatically loads all required polyfills for 99% of users. No additional setup is required on the client side.
