Swiffle Grid — Admin Setup Reference
Last updated: August 2026
The Swiffle Grid settings page is accessible from the WordPress admin sidebar under Swiffle Grid. It is visible to administrators only. Settings marked PRO require an active licence key. Settings marked WooCommerce are only visible when the WooCommerce plugin is active.
🔗 URLs allowed to embed
Defines which external sites are allowed to embed a Swiffle Grid block exported from this WordPress installation. Each URL in this list is authorised to load the block as a remote widget — without being listed here, the remote embed will be refused by the server.
| Field | Description | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| URL field | A full URL of the external site that will embed the block (e.g. https://myshop.webflow.io/products). Must be a valid URL — invalid entries are silently discarded on save. Add as many entries as needed with the ➕ Add a URL button. Remove any entry with the 🗑️ button on its right. | FREE PRO |
ℹ️ No limit on any plan: every URL added to this list is active immediately, on Free and on every paid plan. There is no cap on the number of external sites allowed to embed your grids.
🔐 Licence key
The licence key unlocks the PRO features of Swiffle Grid for a specific WordPress installation. Each key is tied to a single site URL at activation time.
| State | What you see | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| No key | An editable text field and a CTA panel explaining which connectors require a paid plan (WooCommerce, Google Sheets, Custom PHP). | Paste your licence key and click Save Changes. The key is verified against the Swiffle Grid licence server and immediately associated with your site URL. This action cannot be undone from the field — use the release checkbox instead. |
| Active key | A read-only field showing the key, the plan name (e.g. BUNDLE 1 YEAR 1 SITE), and the expiry date. | Check Release this license for another server and click Save Changes to deactivate the key on this site and make it available for re-use on another installation. |
| Expired key | Same read-only display, with an expiry message showing how many days ago it expired. | Release and renew, or contact support. |
🔄 Heartbeat: Swiffle Grid automatically contacts the licence server once a day to refresh the key status. No manual action is needed for renewals — the expiry date updates automatically after a renewal payment.
⚠️ Saving with a key in the field will immediately bind that key to this site’s URL. If you paste the wrong key or need to move the key to another site, use the « Release » checkbox first.
⚙️ Custom sources
A custom source is a standalone WordPress plugin that registers itself with Swiffle Grid through the swiffle_grid_register_connector filter hook — installed the same way as any other plugin, via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
📁 Once the connector plugin is active, its slug appears automatically in the block’s Source dropdown (set to Custom), and it’s listed under Swiffle Grid in the admin sidebar for reference. There is nothing to import, edit, or delete from within Swiffle Grid itself — manage the connector the same way you’d manage any other plugin, under Plugins → Installed Plugins.
For the full guide to writing and registering a custom connector plugin, see the Custom Connector Reference.
🛒 WooCommerce settings WooCommerce
These settings appear only when the WooCommerce plugin is active. The button style settings (colour, background, shape) only affect WooCommerce’s native Cart page, when it is not redirected to a Swiffle Grid-powered page — they have no effect on Swiffle Grid blocks, on this site or in remote embeds. The redirect settings below control navigation behaviour for WooCommerce-sourced grids, both on this WordPress site and on external sites that embed the block remotely.
| Setting | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Color +/− Woo cart | Text / icon colour of the +/− quantity buttons on WooCommerce’s native Cart page. Only applies when the cart is not redirected to a Swiffle Grid-powered page (see “Redirect the cart to store” below) — has no effect on Swiffle Grid blocks, on this site or in remote embeds. | #ffffff |
| Background +/− Woo cart | Background colour of the +/− quantity buttons on the same native Cart page. Choose a colour that contrasts well with the text colour above. | #0073aa |
| Shape +/− Woo cart | Shape of the +/− quantity buttons on the native Cart page: Rounded or Square. Same scope as the two settings above. | Rounded |
| Redirect the store to a page | When enabled, visitors who navigate to the default WooCommerce shop archive (e.g. /shop/) are automatically redirected to a specific WordPress page of your choice. Useful when you have replaced the standard WooCommerce shop page with a Swiffle Grid-powered page. | Off |
| Target page | The WordPress page visitors are redirected to when « Redirect the store to a page » is enabled. Type the page title and select from published pages. Only active when the redirect checkbox above is checked. | — |
| Redirect the cart to store | When enabled, clicking the WooCommerce cart link redirects visitors back to the Target page instead of the default cart page. Keeps the shopping flow contained within the Swiffle Grid-powered page rather than jumping to the standard WooCommerce cart. | Off |
| Hide WooCommerce’s built-in mini-cart | Block themes (e.g. Twenty Twenty-Five) automatically insert WooCommerce’s own Mini Cart block into the header via WordPress’s Block Hooks API. Enable this to remove that specific block — useful when Swiffle Grid already provides its own cart experience on the site, avoiding two competing carts. Only the Mini Cart block is affected; nothing else WooCommerce may auto-insert is touched. | Off |
